About us

  • Mobile Aviation Platforms (MAP) was established in 2021, when CEO Steven Wellington met with Chief Pilots who were experiencing challenges in the use of current helicopter handling equipment.

  • Through effective consultation with engineers, experienced pilots and draftsman Mobile Aviation Platforms designed their first signature Platform which is currently being used by law enforcement, emergency service personnel and other private aviation users across NSW, Australia.

Our Advantages

High Quality
Built with reference to Australian Civilian Regulations (CAR) 1988 and Civil Aviation Advisory Publications (CAAP), specifically CAAP 92-2: Guidelines for the establishment and use of helicopter landing sites (HLS), MAPs unique design allows for the safe and effective manoeuvrability of a helicopter from the flightline to the hanger. Constructed using high grade structural steel rectangular hollow sections, MAPs structural frame has been fabricated in accordance with the requirements of AS4100, enabling the platform once fully constructed to resist the 6kPa distributed designed load. All materials used in the construction of the platform have been sourced locally within Australia.
Exceptional Support
MAP will assess the delivery site to ensure required equipment is available to manoeuvre the platform to a desired space so it can be safely installed. Clear, concise written instructions are privided with each serialised platform to allow for onsite operator installation with support from MAP personnel or alternatively MAP personnel can attend to the installation on site. Upon installation MAP personnel are available at any time to provide remote or in person support at anytime. MAP recommended weekly inspections be conducted by the operator as part of their mobilisation schedule. These inspections can be achieved by following a quality assurance review guide prepared by MAP for each user of the platform. In addition MAP can provide specialised annual inspections onsite where a detailed review of the materials, mechanics and general inspection is conducted. At MAP we are always open to improving our design and serviceability through collaboration and open discussions with users. This is what led us to developing the platform further with the use of innovative materials such as the UHMW Ultra-High-Molecular-Weight Polyethylene pads to provide superior impact strength supporting smooth and safe landings.
